Subway - Mass Rapid Transit (MRT)
Running through 20 kilometers across metropolitan Bangkok, the MRT connects the
northern train station of Bang Sue to the Hua Lamphong central railway station near
the city center, while also going through the eastern part of Bangkok. Passengers
can conveniently connect to the BTS system at BTS stations Mo Chit, Asok, and Sala
Daeng
The subways run every 4-6 minutes and every 2-4 minutes during rush hour. Trains
run everyday from 06:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The fare is based on the distance traveled.
Sky train - Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS)
Currently, there are 23 stations along 2 routes, the Sukhumvit Line and the Silom
Line.The Sukhumvit line runs northwards and eastwards, terminating at Mo Chit and
On Nut respectively; the Silom line plies Silom and Sathon, the Central Business
District of Bangkok, terminating at the National Stadium and Saphan Taksin (Taksin
Bridge). The lines interchange at Siam station.
Both lines cover majority of Bangkok CBD, commercial, residential and tourist areas.
The trains run daily between 6:00 am and 12:00 midnight with frequent service throughout
the day, increased during rush hours. The fare is based on the distance traveled.
Roads
Bangkok has a reasonable network of roads and highways throughout the city. Traffic
in Thailand drives on the left side of the road and the wearing of seat belts is
a must. A national driving license or International Driving Permit is required but
visitors have been in Thailand for a period extending 3 months, would need to obtain
a Thai driving license

City Bus System
Operated by Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) is the main operator of public
transit buses within Bangkok. The BMTA is in charged of providing bus service to
people living and working in areas cover Bangkok Metropolis and its suburban areas
in the adjacent provinces. The official service hours are 05.00-23.00 hrs, except
24-hr night-owl service on some routes. The BMTA allow passengers to board a bus
and pay with cash or coupons. An average of 3.4 million people uses these services
daily.
